Tango 5 brings together leading musicians from around the north with the internationally acclaimed Argentinian bandoneon player, Santiago Cimadevilla to create the thrilling sound of the Tango Quintet. Piano - Peter Lawson, Violin - David Routledge, Guitar - Tom McKinney, Double Bass - James Manson, Bandoneon - Santiago Cimadevilla. Tango, which has its roots in the bordellos of Buenos Aires, is now heard in concert halls around the world. Tango 5's programme of all Piazzolla, who took the Tango world by storm in the 1950s and 60s, gives a rare opportunity to hear some of his greatest works in their original tango quintet form, the group with which he was most at home both as composer and bandoneonist.
